What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The main activities of this Water Cooperative is to own, construct, operate and maintain a domestic water service for approximately 45 residential lots with a capacity of servicing up to 90 residential lots, some of which are vacant and some of which have houses. The activity of consists of keeping the system operating and in good repair, keeping the property and facilities in safe condition and good repair, administrating the Cooperative's Membership and Board of Directors.

Zigzag Water Cooperative recently received a notice in the mail that they did not have a record of tax returns transmitted for 2014-2015 or 2015-2016. Those years were prepared by ZZWC after a long-term President who apparently had always done the tax returns on line left the Board. When it because clear to the remaining Board what had transpired in the past, they set about remedying the lack of returns. It is clear something did not go well on ZZWC's end since IRS does not have them? The years in question will be caught up when this document is filed. ZZWC will be following up to insure that IRS received the forms, etc. It is currently ready to release 2016-2017 on time by the end of July 2017. As can be seen in the returns, this tiny company has less than $20,000 in gross receipts each year. While it acknowledges it was late, it has made every effort to get the reporting back on track and would greatly appreciate a waiver of penalties for this first time catch up process.
