Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The Authors Guild is the nation's oldest and largest professional organization to serve and protect the interest of writers. The Guild advocates for authors on issues of copyright, fair contracts, free speech and tax fairness, and has initiated lawsuits in defense of authors' rights. We represent authors on Capitol Hill, in state legislatures and before government entities, and we educate and assist our members in connection with the business of writing.

It brought authors the latest news relevant to their writing life through its Bulletin, email newsletter, and website.
