What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Unify knowledge, accuracy, and application of NIRS technology for the forage and feed testing industry.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 (1)New calibrations are developed to standardize method and output using the NIRS instrument. We also work to test for more types of feeds and parameters. To date we have developed equations for testing hays, haylages, and corn silage. (2) At our annual conference and trainings the goal is to educate members and other participants interested in NIRS testing of forage and feed. Our conferences are attended by our member labs, nutrition professionals, university and government researchers, etc. (3)We monitor and help our members maintain instruments. Members participate in a program to monitor and standardized their NIRS instruments. We have recently developed a technical help desk for members to ask questions.
