What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The purposes of this Association shall be to promote the interest of public education, advance the standards of the teaching profession, promote general welfare of its members, promote better understanding of educational problems among teachers and lay citizens, represent the members in negotiating and implementing collective agreements, and build and maintain a close relationship with New York State United Teachers, Inc. (NYSUT) and its National Affiliate, and the American Federation of Teachers )AFT-CIO).
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 We give two scholarships to graduating seniors in our school totaling $10,000. We support our community by donating money to local organizations that support and enhance academics, the arts, athletics, and technology in our schools and community. We share in the cost with the district membership to our local teachers' center which provides guided practice in the classroom to enhance and deepen teacher content knowledge in the Common Core Learning Standards including onsite coaching and modeling and provides high-level technology training for teachers through workshops and in class coaching.
