	Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society hosts two scientific meetings annually. These meetings provide a forum for discussion/teaching of the management of all musculoskeletal conditions. The Society also provides two medical coding seminars each year for physicians and practice administrative staff to learn coding/documentation guidelines and to gain knowledge of issues and payor policies.

	Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society engages in educational and lobbying efforts to promote the practice of orthopaedics in relationship to medical liability reform, workers' compensation, and phase-out of the Mcare Fund along with preservation of physician ownership of ancillary services. Additional efforts include working to improve contractual relationships between physcians and health insurers.
