DUE TO THIS EXPANSION, YWCA NORTHEAST INDIANA NOW PROVIDES ONE OF THE FEW ADDICTIONS RECOVERY SHELTER SERVICES IN INDIANA THAT ACCOMMODATES WOMEN WHO HAVE RETAINED CUSTODY OF THEIR CHILDREN. THIS ENABLES WOMEN TO RECEIVE QUALITY IN-PATIENT TREATMENT WITHOUT HAVING TO GIVE UP CUSTODY OF THEIR CHILDREN. |

RACIAL JUSTICE - YWCA NORTHEAST INDIANA PROVIDES EDUCATION BEYOND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AS WE WORK IN OUR SIX COUNTY SERVICE AREA AND ACROSS THE STATE WITH OUR RACIAL JUSTICE PROGRAMMING. WITHIN OUR EDUCATION ACTIVITIES WE PROVIDE WORKPLACE TRAINING ON DIVERSITY WITH THREE DIFFERENT FORMATS. IN ADDITION, EACH MONTH WE OFFER PUBLIC FORUMS, NAMED DIVERSITY DIALOGUES, WHERE COMMUNITY MEMBERS COME TO THE YWCA NORTHEAST INDIANA TO INCREASE THEIR KNOWLEDGE ON TOPICS RELATED TO DIVERSITY. DRESS FOR SUCCESS - YWCA NORTHEAST INDIANA ADDED DRESS FOR SUCCESS TO OUR PROGRAM LIST IN 2018. DRESS FOR SUCCESS SUITS ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED FEMALE CLIENTS FOR JOB INTERVIEWS AND COURT APPEARANCES. THE PROGRAM ALSO OFFERS ADDITIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES, SUCH AS EDITING RESUMES, WRITING COVER LETTERS, ASSISTING WITH JOB SEARCHES, AND ESTABLISHING INTERVIEW SKILLS. IN 2018, DRESS FOR SUCCESS PROVIDED EMPLOYMENT SUITING SESSIONS FOR 47 INDIVIDUALS AND ADDITIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES FOR 67 INDIVIDUALS. SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES - YWCA NORTHEAST INDIANA PROVIDES HELP AND SUPPORT TO SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVORS TO RELIEVE THE TRAUMA OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE THROUGH OUR REACT PROGRAM, WHICH PROVIDES CRISIS INTERVENTION, COUNSELING, AND SUPPORT GROUP SERVICES. REACT SERVED 114 INDIVIDUALS IN 2018. ALL OF OUR SERVICES ARE FREE TO ANYONE AFFECTED BY SEXUAL VIOLENCE, INCLUDING MEN, WOMEN, ADOLESCENTS, CHILDREN, AND ENTIRE FAMILIES. IN ADDITION TO COUNSELING AND SUPPORT GROUP SERVICES, WE OPERATE A 24-HOUR SEXUAL ASSAULT CRISIS LINE STAFFED BY TRAINED VOLUNTEERS WHO CAN PROVIDE IMMEDIATE SUPPORT AND INFORMATION TO THOSE IN CRISIS DUE TO AN ACT OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE. |
