What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? To provide support and service to the physician and healthcare providers each individually providing healthcare services to patients. Membership is limited to healthcare providers collectively having a common interest in being in network with managed care organizations and desire to lower their medical practice expenses through group purchasing initiatives.

28 Managed Care Operations - To provide our membership healthcare providers, access to participation with insurance company and health plan networks. Enabling members to participate in the networks used by beneficiaries of those insurance company and health plans provides patients with greater access to healthcare choices and availability. The Texas Professional Healthcare Alliance Inc. (TPHAI) brings these options and opportunities to the membership in support of their practice. 29 Expense Reduction - To identify and facilitate group purchasing opportunities allowing the individual members to realize discounts and savings as being part of a larger group from what otherwise alone they may not be able to realize. Savings on medical supplies, office supplies, merchant card services and other vendor services that support their practice operations. Members benefit from access to the negotiated savings arrangement but each hold an agreement or contract with the vendors directly.
