| Form 990, Part III, Line 4d: Other Program Services Description | OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: South Africa Baseball-Money was donated in 18 for a trip in January of 19--A baseball project in Cape Town South Africa. The coaches and athletes conducted baseball clinics for children in four different areas of Cape Town. Children were taught about base OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: OBU Greece January-Money was donated in 18 for a trip in January of 19--A delegation from Oklahoma Baptist University conducted a mission project in Athens, Greece. Students worked alongside a Greek organization called StreetLights to serve local refugees from Syria and Afghanistan. Students conducted evening festivals for local children that included games and music. Participants were given Christian evangelical materials and Bibles were made available. The students also assisted in local food and clothing supply banks by organizing and assisting in distribution of resources. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Japan Vision Trip-Money was donated in 18 for a trip in April of 19--Staff members from International Sports Federation led a team of Christian leaders who expressed interest in serving in Japan during the Rugby World Cup and 2020 Olympics. The team conducted festivals with local churches to determine if this is an effective way to engage Japanese people. The team studied the logistics and challenges of taking teams to Japan during these major sporting events and how local churches could use these events to share the Christian message with people and distribute Christian materials as well as invite people to come to local Christian churches. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Greece Playground- A special fundraiser was held to get donations for a therapeutic playground being built in Greece. Funds were sent directly to Streetlights in Athens Greece. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: Gateway Greece April--A delegation from Gateway Church in Austin, Texas took a team to do a mission project in Athens, Greece. The team worked alongside a Christian Greek organization, Streetlights. The team conducted festivals for children, did sports clinics in local refugee centers to help the children have something fun and engaging to occupy their time. When it was possible the team members shared their Christian faith with anyone interested in learning more about Christianity. Team members also made Bibles and Christian materials available to any interested parties. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 9: Portugal Spring Break Basketball- A delegation of coaches and athletes conducted a sports mission project in Lisbon, Portugal. The team members led a basketball camp and during their time with the participants they shared their Christian faith. Participants were given the opportunities to take a Bible and other Christian material from the camp. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 10: Madagascar Basketball--A team of basketball players and coaches conducted a sports mission project in Antananarivo, Madagascar. The team traveled to several communities and conducted basketball clinics for local youth. The team also spoke in two churches during their time in Madagascar. The team shared their Christian testimonies and distributed Bibles and Christian materials to any interested parties. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 11: SE Asia--A team of basketball players and coaches conducted a christian mission project to Malaysia. The team was sensitive to the laws of the country that prohibit proselytizing and utilized the sport of basketball to develop friendships. The team played many exhibition games and traveled throughout the country using sports for a positive cultural exchange with the people of Malaysia. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 12: Slovenia Basketball--A team of coaches conducted a youth basketball mission project in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The coaches held a basketball camp for local youth. As part of the camp, the coaches shared their Christian testimonies and made Bibles and Christian material available for any interested parties. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 13: Portugal Football--A delegation of coaches and athletes conducted a football camp in Lisbon, Portugal. The team partnered with a local Christian church to reach out to local youth who wanted to learn about American football. The coaches taught the participants about the basics of football and also shared their Christian testimonies and gave the participants Bibles and Christian materials. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 14: Greece Hailey Kilgo--Hailey served as an ISF volunteer in Athens, Greece as a Christina missionary, and donations were used to pay her housing and food expenses. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 15: Other miscelleanous trips and activities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through building relationships and sports. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 16: 2017 Domestic Football--we did a football project in 2017 and receipts were paid out in 2018. ISF had a 7 man youth football team that utilized the opportunity to play 7 versus 7 man football to teach the players about the Christian faith and offer them Christian materials and Bibles when interested. The expenses were for team travel, uniforms, tournament entry fees and food. |
