Part II, Line 2e

A major portion of the Taxpayer's revenue comes from local property taxes collected by the Whiteland Fire Protection District ("District"). The District contracts with the Taxpayer to provide fire protection and first responder services to area residents. In 2018, the Taxpayer, District and Town of Whiteland ("Town")agreed to merge the Fire District with the Town. After the merger, the District will dissolve, and the Town will run the Taxpayer as a department within its municipal structure. To work towards those ends, the District assumed the two loans the Taxpayer has for hte purchase of the Ford 550 pumper and 25 self-contained breathing apparatus ("SCBA")in exchange for all of the Taxpayer's fire apparatus and the 25 SCBAs. The merger is expected to be completed sometime in 2020.

Pt VI, Line 19	Upon request from any member of the public, the board will provide a copy of the governing docuemnts, Form 990, or any other releaseable information, including the number of runs, types of runs, volunteer roster, etc. However, the board does not release any personal identifiers or any other confidential information related to its members or anyone else.
Pt VI, Line 7a	The members elect the governing board, so they have the power to change the board, and therefore change the direction that the Fire Department could take. Obviously, any change in the character of the board would still be controlled to a very large extent by state statutes governing volunteer fire departments, as well as the oversight provided by the local Fire District that contracts with the Taxpayer.
Pt VI, Line 6	The Taxpayer is run by an all volunteer staff. The volunteer fire fighters and EMS personnel elect the board, who are also all volunteers of the Department.
Pt VI, Line 5	During the year, the Taxpayer discovered its Treasurer of several years had embezzled an unknown amount of money. A subsequent audit by the Indiana State Board of Accounts found the Treasurer had embezzled $61,240 from 2010 through mid 2017 when she was discovered.
