	In 2018, Bronze Valley invested in its first portfolio company (Mixtroz), a technology startup founded by two African American female entrepreneurs. Mixtroz's total raise of $1 million brought significant visibility to minority-owned startups and Birmingham's tech ecosystem as a whole. Additionally, Bronze Valley's inaugural conference held in February of 2018 brought startup founders, venture capitalists, corporate executives, public officials, and other thought leaders to Birmingham to have insightful discussions about diversity in tech.
