	The Green Valley Council enables Green Valley to function as a volunteer, citizen-managed community run by approx. 150 volunteers and 4 support staff. Its primary purpose is to liaise with Pima County and other agencies on behalf of the unincorporated Green Valley area with ca. 25,000 residents. In 2017 Pima County re-authorized their contract with GVC over $73,000 of staff time and resources on County-related services. The Council has 7 standing committees, corresponding with Pima County departments, and together with the members of the Board of Representitives donate more than 5,800 hrs of volunteer service.

	The Green Valley Council provides for additional unmet community needs by contracting for services with other non-govermental contractors. In 2017, the Council contracted for (1) delivery of the "Green Valley Community Directory" by well over 100 community wide volunteers;(2) with a service waranty program, vetted by the Council, for referal fees and (3) administrative and logistical support of the GVC-Foundation, Inc a 501 (c) (3), on a cost reimbursement basis.

	The Green Valley Council offers a number of in-house services free to its members, and for nominal fees to non-members. These programs include the Preferred Vendor Program, which numbered 115 vendors in 2017 with 14889 referrals; (2) a sponsorship program that enables businesses to advertise through the GVC website, workshops and community forums; (3) a dispute resolution service provided by trained members of the Council; (4) Notary Public services; and (5) HOA archival services.
