Supported the Marine Chemist certification process entailing a comprehensive training program. Initial certification requires a trainee to meet extensive education,professional and general requirements. Satisfactory completion of an examination and interview with the Marine Chemist Qualification Board is required. The examination and interview include all aspects of the NFPA Standard 306, Gas Hazards Aboard Vessels and applicable regulations of the U.S. Coast Guard and Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Supported four educational seminars to provide continuing education for Marine Chemists. These fora provide opportunity to disseminate and discuss information on current rules and regulations and provide the opportunity to exchange views on technical issues as well as interface with other professionals in the marine field.
