| FORM 990, PART III - PROGRAM SERVICE, LINE 4A | STATEMENT OF PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS THE BARBARA SINATRA CHILDRENS CENTER AT EISENHOWER HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN FISCAL YEAR 2018 IN CONTINUING TO PROVIDE THE BEST POSSIBLE THERAPY FOR VICTIMS OF PHYSICAL, SEXUAL, AND EMOTIONAL CHILD ABUSE WHO RESIDE IN THE COMMUNITIES OF THE COACHELLA VALLEY. THE CENTER CONTINUES TO DO RESEARCH AND FUNDRAISERS TO SUPPORT THE ACTIVITIES OF THE ORGANIZATION. THE ONGOING GOAL OF THE CHILDRENS CENTER IS TO PROVIDE VICTIMS THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO DEVELOP A HEIGHTENED SENSE OF SELF-ESTEEM, SELF-CONFIDENCE, OPTIMISM, HOPE AND THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY ARE ENTITLED TO SAY "NO". THEY LEARN THAT THEY MATTER, ARE IMPORTANT, AND DESERVE TO BE LOVED. EVERYTHING THE CHILDRENS CENTER REPRESENTS AND EVERYTHING THE STAFF DOES IS TO FULFILL THE CENTERS PLEDGE THAT THE CHILDREN COME FIRST. THIS IS A YEAR ROUND RESPONSIBILITY. THE CENTER HAD 5,707 VISITS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, AND PROVIDED SERVICE TO 464 CLIENTS. THIS INCLUDED 78 SEXUAL AND PHYSICAL MEDICAL FORENSIC EXAMS AND 380 FORENSIC INTERVIEWS. ADDITIONALLY, OVER 405 PSYCHIATRIC ASSESSMENTS AND FOLLOW-UPS WERE PERFORMED. COMMUNITY OUTREACH THAT ADDRESSES AWARENESS AND PARENTING CLASSES IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH, PRESENTATIONS TO AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS, ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROGRAMS THAT ADDRESSES SAFE AND UNSAFE TOUCH, AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM OF ANIMATED VIDEOS TO TEACH CHILDREN HOW TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM ABUSE. THE BARBARA SINATRA CHILDRENS CENTER CONTINUES TO REACH THE VICTIMS AND FAMILIES OF CHILD ABUSE IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY. |
