What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? TO FOSTER THE GAME OF BRIDGE FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY BY OFFERING FRIENDLY AND COMPETITIVE DUPLICATE BRIDGE GAMES TO PLAYERS OF ALL LEVELS.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 THE VAST MAJORITY OF OUR CLUB'S 250 MEMBERS ARE SENIOR CITIZENS. ALL OF US, REGARDLESS OF AGE, ENJOY KEEPING OUR MINDS SHARP PLAYING BRIDGE IN A CONGENIAL, SOCIAL ATMOSPHERE AT THE BRIDGE CENTER. WE HAVE EIGHT GAMES PER WEEK, DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE PLAYERS OF DIFFERENT SKILL LEVELS.WE ARE A TEACHING CLUB. WE HAVE THREE LEVELS OF INSTRUCTION TO HELP INTERESTED PEOPLE (MOSTLY MEMBERS, BUT THAT'S NOT REQUIRED) LEARN TO PLAY BRIDGE AND THEN IMPROVE THEIR PLAYING ABILITIES. OUR BEGINNING CLASS AND OUR LOWER INTERMEDIATE CLASS EACH AVERAGE ABOUT 40 STUDENTS. EACH CLASS IS OFFERED AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR, 10-12 WEEKS EACH, PLUS OCCASIONAL SHORTER COURSES. THE UPPER INTERMEDIATE CLASS MEETS ALMOST YEAR-ROUND, WITH ABOUT 30 STUDENTS.OUR CLUB ALSO OFFERS THREE TOURNAMENTS EACH YEAR, ATTRACTING OUT-OF-TOWN PLAYERS AS WELL AS LOCALS. ALL OUR GAMES AND TOURNAMENTS PROVIDE PLAYERS WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO EARN "POINTS" RESULTING IN DIFFERENT LEVELS OF RECOGNITION FROM THE AMERICAN CONTRACT BRIDGE LEAGUE.
