What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The Veterinary Specialty Practice ALliance (VSPA), established in 1999, is a not-for-profit association representing veterinary specialty hospitals working in private practice throughout the United States. Membership includes owners, administrators, and doctors of these facilities. The VSPA is a collective voice for issues related to specialty veterinary medicine that includes the sharing of best practices related to hospital management and patient care.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 During 2018 the Veterinary Specialty Practice Alliance (VSPA) held three-day educational conferences in May and October, elected new Officers in October, published an article in a national veterinary publication benefiting the business operations of primary and specialty care veterinary hospitals, four VSPA member practice sold to corporations or to venture capital-backed consolidators, two VSPA member practices resigned, and finally a significant effort was expended in recruitment for new members including exhibiting at the conferences of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society in 2018.
