What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Advocate for USDA Guaranteed Lending programs to support rural economic development. NRLA proposes to educate the banking communities of the advantages of such loans through their membership and outreach to improve rural communities.

28 The National Rural Lenders Association (NRLA), filed with the State of Louisiana Secretary of State on November 10, 2014, with around 12 members. The association increased in membership to around 30+ members as of 12/31/2017.The NRLA Board of Directors had a monthly teleconference with those Directors available to discuss NRLA projections and proposals.The association had its third annual conference in October of 2017.In addition, NRLA sponsored three (3) P3 (Public Private Partnerships) in Oklahoma City, Reno, and Charlotte. USDA staff and NRLA members met to discuss how each group could network and partnership in making the USDA Guaranteed program work to its capacity.The purpose of NRLA is to Advocate for USDA Guaranteed Lending programs to support rural economic development. Guaranteed lending is an often overlooked resource for the needed capital for businesses and communities in rural America that often goes unmet. Various guaranteed lending programs fill and important gap in access to capital for rural businesses, communities, and not-for-profit and tribal entities.
