NBAA Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (BACE). The Convention (formerly known as the Annual Meeting and Convention) provides an unsurpassed opportunity for the 25,000 attendees to view the largest display of purely civil aviation exhibits in the world and attend a series of forums for information sharing and networking with peers. This gathering of business aviation professionals, where business aircraft management, operations, maintenance, budgeting and products are covered exhaustively, is the single most important business aviation event of the year.

EBACE is the largest educational event in the aviation industry in Europe. This three-day event features exhibits, an incredible Static Display of Aircraft, education sessions and maintenance & operations sessions (M&Os).

PART X, LINE 2 FIN48 FOOTNOTE The Association must recognize the tax benefit associated with tax positions taken for tax return purposes when it is more-likely-than-not that the position will be sustained. The Associations management believes it has no material uncertain tax positions and; accordingly, it will not recognize any liability for unrecognized tax benefits. For the years ended June 30, 2018 and 2017, the Association did not recognize any interest or penalties. The tax years ended June 30, 2014 through 2017 remain open to examination by the taxing jurisdictions to which the Association is subject, and they have not been extended beyond the applicable statute of limitations. No examinations are currently in process.

FORM 990, PART III, LINE 4D OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES Conference and Seminar Programs. The Association offers a comprehensive program of information seminars, conferences and workshops for flight department personnel. All job functions, including schedulers, dispatchers, flight attendants, maintenance managers, technicians, chief pilots and aviation department managers are covered. The conferences and seminars address current industry trends and issues as well as basic hands-on information for the successful day-to-day operation of the corporate flight department. Operations Services: The Flight Operations activities cover a wide variety of issues facing the business aviation industry. Such topics include: Safety - Review industry statistics, read safety references or submit anonymous reports on safety concerns or incidents. Security - Information on new and pending security regulations and the new transportation security. Administration (TSA) - information for flight dept. managers, including the full text of the NBAA management guide. Tax, Finance & Insurance - information on financial issues such as fed/state taxes, ramifications of the personal use of employer provided aircraft, carriage of elected officials and aviation insurance. Maintenance - guidance for maintenance personnel and a wealth of technical information in the maintenance reports database. Airports - NBAA references for airport issues. Airspace/Air traffic - NBAA references for airspace/air traffic issues. International operations - documents and online resources for flying outside of the United States. Members can also search the airport reports database to review comments submitted by corporate pilots. Membership Services: Membership in NBAA is an essential part of being a successful business aircraft operator. The data and information used to prepare the return is provided by NBAA management. Once the return is prepared by BDO and reviewed by NBAA management, it is presented to the NBAA Audit Committee and circulated to the full Board.
FORM 990, PART VI, SECTION B, LINE 12C - CONFLICTS OF INTEREST CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICIES WERE SIGNED BY EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND NBAA SENIOR MANAGEMENT. THE POLICY REQUIRES ALL CONFLICTS OF INTEREST TO BE DISCLOSED. MANAGEMENT PERFORMS INTERNAL REVIEWS TO DETERMINE IF A POTENTIAL CONFLICT IS REQUIRED TO BE DISCLOSED. NBAA'S BOOKS AND RECORDS ARE AUDITED BY AN INDEPENDENT CPA FIRM. AS PART OF THE AUDIT THEY PERFORM A SEARCH FOR CONFLICT OF INTERESTS.
FORM 990, PART VI, SECTION B, LINE 15 - DETERMINING COMPENSATION The Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors reviews a compilation of the entire board's evaluation of the CEO's performance, examines benchmark compensation data provided by a compensation consultant that has been aged appropriately if necessary, and minutes of their deliberations and decisions about CEO compensation are distributed and recorded. The Compensation Committee makes recommendations to the full board of directors regarding CEO compensation. It is the full Board of Directors that makes final compensation decisions regarding CEO compensation. The CEO makes a formal presentation to the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors regarding his evaluation of key employees' performance and makes compensation recommendations for these employees to the committee. The committee examines benchmark compensation data provided by a compensation consultant that has been aged appropriately if necessary, and decides whether or not to approve or amend the CEO's recommendations. Minutes of their deliberations and decisions are distributed and recorded.
