CVC'S VOLUNTEER TRAINING PROGRAM IS AN INTENSIVE, 40-HOURS PLUS PROCESS THAT PROVIDES CRITICAL TRAINING TO VOLUNTEERS ON AREA RESOURCES, RESPONDING TO CRISIS AND ENGAGING CLIENTS WITH COMPASSION AND SENSITIVITY. VOLUNTEERS FOR OUR HOTLINES SPECIFICALLY OFFER AN ESSENTIAL SUPPORT SERVICE TO CVC, SUPPLEMENTING STAFF DURING WEEKDAY OVERNIGHT SHIFTS AND THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND. OUR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM PROVIDES AS MANY AS 135 HOURS OF COVERAGE EACH MONTH, OVER 1625 IN HOTLINE COVERAGE HOURS EACH YEAR. ADDITIONALLY, OUR VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE HELP THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITH ADMINISTRATIVE, PROGRAM DELIVERY AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES. THIS SUPPORT ALLOWS CVC TO MANAGE THE COSTS OF MAINTAINING THE OFFICE, AS WELL AS ALLOWING VOLUNTEERS TO SPEAK "NEIGHBOR-TO-NEIGHBOR" ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS AND THEIR IMPACT.
