What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Our mission is to lead the investment profession globally by promoting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence for the ultimate benefit of society. Our society is an association of local investment professionals. Consisting of portfolio managers, security analysts, investment advisors, and other financial professionals, we promote: ethical and professional standards within the investment industry; encourage professional development through the CFA Program and continuing education; facilitate the exchange of information and opinions among people within the local investment community and beyond, and; work to further the public's understanding of the CFA designation and investment industry. As one of CFA Institute member societies, our society connects members to a global network of investment professionals.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 Educational Events: We typically host 8 lectures per year. Speakers come in from all over the country and are experts in a certain facet of investing. Board members use professional contacts to attract the speakers. We occasionally reimburse travel expenses. Continuing Education: CFAI has instituted a voluntary CE Program as a framework to identify, track, and report educational activities. We support member activities by reporting attendance at the educational events to CFAI.

29 College Research Challenge: The CFAI Research Challenge is an annual, global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis. The Society participates each year by sponsoring a competition with around eight local universities. The Society selects a local, public company, arranges management meeting, provides investment industry mentors, works with universities to organize teams, provides graders, competition judges, an awards dinner and prizes.

30 Leadership Development: With a rotating board, local members of the investment community are given an opportunity to serve as either a board or committee member. CFAI offers various leadership training conferences that are typically free of charge to the volunteer and often to the Society. CFA Test Prep: We offer a mock exam for candidates in conjunction with Kaplan, one of the leading exam prep companies. Job Board: We encourage local employers to inform us of job opportunities. They are posted on our website and included in e-mails to members.
