What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Fox River Post 4600, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is not for profit organization and as a unit of war veterans, is eligible for tax deductible contributions. It shares the purposes set forth in Title 36 USC 230102 for the congressionally chartered Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. As a Veterans Service Organization the mission of Fox River Post 4600 Dept of IL VFW consist of Veterans advocacy, citizenship and community service, encouraging national security through support of our nations men and women in uniform, promoting good citizenship and community service, encouraging America's youth to excel in academics, community service and athletics, facilitating direct assistance to needy military personnel and veterans and their families and to support actions and activities that further the mission and promote the well being of veterans and their families.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 TLS Veterans Food Truck Program provides a monthly food allotment for approximately 140 military families that need financial assistance as identified by TLS. American Legion Post 491, PLAV Liberty Post 188 and VFW Fox River Post 4600 together provide the financial backing for the purchase of a truck from Northern Illinois Food Bank. This ensures that these families are properly fed each month as long as is needed.

29 School District 156 Food for Thought Program provides meals for the students that require financial assistance from the school district. The post donation insures that those students that may not have money to purchase a lunch will receive a meal during school hours.

30 Missy's Vets of Valor is a program established by the VA CBOC in McHenry and the VFW Fox River Post 4600, to provide dental services to Veterans that are not covered by the VA and cannot afford the dental procedures that may be required for health reasons. The veteran is screened by the CBOC and services are recommended by the medical staff. The veteran schedules his/her appointment with a dentist who has offered their services at a discounted rate. Donations to the Post Relief Fund covers the cost of these services.
