Elks Lodge #409 checks are issued to support the above sponsored charities. In addition to the above total cash payments, Elks Lodge Members spend many hours volunteering for these various organizations, such as filling food baskets for the needy, back packs for the school children, distributing drug awareness material to every school in the area. Monthly trips are made to The Veterans Hospital in Mt Vernon Mo for the purpose of playing bingo for fun, cook outs for the veterans, taking them to ballgames with supervision of nursing staff, etc.The procedure for selecting the above charities is voted on by the Elk Lodge Members at the beginning of each accounting year and a budget is set aside for the same.

PERTAINING TO SCHEDULE G	Various Fund raising Activities are scheduled for our sponsored charities all year round. There are many dinners and activities where members donate to the particular charity of that function.
REGARDING DRUG AWARENESS	Drug Awareness Literature is distributed to every grade school and junior high school in this area in hopes that these children can be reached early in life. We have Poster Contests and the winner receive a Savings Bond. Volunteers work year round with the charities at Elks Lodge #409 going to the veterans home and providing food, entertainment, Christmas Gifts, Postage Stamps, etc
SCHEDULE I PART III ITEM B	Checks are issued to these organizations and it is impossible to know exactly how many individuals might benefit from these monies with the exception of the Local Scholarship Awards which are given to Local High School Seniors. We work with the Local Council of Churches during the Holiday Season and prepare many food baskets and our volunteers deliver them. We receive the family names from the Council of Churches, purchase all the food, assemble all the many baskets and member volunteer to deliver them. (A WONDERFUL PROGRAM) along with the school children in need wherein we assist with back packs of food.
