| THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINS A CONTINUOUS AND BONA FIDE PROGRAM FOR SOLICITATION OF FUNDS FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC. IT MAINTAINS THE "DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT" FOR THIS PURPOSE. THE PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS PROVIDE PLENTY OF FACTS REGARDING THE PROGRAMS AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AS WELL AS CHILDREN WHO ARE HOUSED IN THE FACILITIES OF THE ORGANIZATION. THE GOVERNING BODY WITH (38) THIRTY-EIGHT DIRECTORS FROM ACROSS THE STATE OF LOUISIANA REPRESENTS THE INTEREST OF THE PUBLIC IN ALL AREAS OF THE STATE. THE COMMITTEE PARTICIPATION IS EXTENSIVE AND WELL REPRESENTED IN THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY FROM ACROSS THE STATE ALSO. THERE ARE BUSINESS OWNERS, BANKERS, INVESTMENT ADVISORS, CLERGY, CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, LAWYERS, AND RETIRED OFFICERS OF THE ORGANIZATION SERVING AS DIRECTORS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS. THE ORGANIZATION DOES PROVIDE FACILITIES AND SERVICES DIRECTLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON A CONTINUING BASIS.THE ORGANIZATION'S INVESTMENT INCOME DURING THE LAST FOUR YEARS HAVE INCREASED TREMENDOUSLY DUE TO ROYALTIES FROM OIL AND GAS. PROPERTY THAT WAS DONATED TO THE ORGANIZATION MANY YEARS AGO HAS BEEN EXPLORED AND DEVELOPED WITH MANY PRODUCING OIL AND GAS WELLS COMPLETED. THE CONTRIBUTIONS HAVE AVERAGED $2,355,726 A YEAR OVER THE LAST FIVE (5) YEARS, HOWEVER THE OIL AND GAS REVENUE HAS CAUSED AN INCREASE IN THE INVESTMENT INCOME OVER THE LAST FIVE (5) YEARS FROM $3,065,018 PER YEAR IN 2012 TO $6,349,275 & $3,572,310 INVESTMENT INCOME IN 2017 AND 2018, RESPECTIVELY. IN 2012 THE ORGANIZATION PUBLIC SUPPORT WAS 40.33%, IN 2013 THE ORGANIZATION PUBLIC SUPPORT WAS 36.31%. HOWEVER, DURING 2015 THROUGH 2018 THE ROYALTIES FROM OIL AND GAS HAVE INFLATED THE INCOME SUBSTANTUALLY. WITH THE DECREASE IN PRICE THAT THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY IS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING, THAT SAME INVESTMENT INCOME COULD REDUCE SUBSTANTIALLY IN THE COMING YEARS. |
