Form 990, Schedule D, Part X, Line 2:	The Chapter is exempt from federal income taxes under Internal Revenue Code Sections 501(c)(6). However, income from certain activities not directly related to the Chapter's tax-exempt purpose is subject to taxation as unrelated business income. In addition, the Chapter qualifies for the charitable contribution deduction under Section 170(b)(1)(A) and has been classified as an organization other than a private foundation under Section 509(a)(2). Under the Revenue Reconciliation Act of 1993, businesses are generally denied a deduction for lobbying expenses. Trade associations which collect dues and incur lobbying expenses must forward a statement to the members which indicates how much of their dues go toward lobbying expenses and as such, are nondeductible for tax purposes, or annually elect to pay a proxy tax. The Chapters policy is to incur any proxy tax rather than passing it on to their members. The Chapter follows accounting standards generally accepted in the United States of America related to the recognition of uncertain tax positions. The Chapter recognizes accrued interest and penalties associated with uncertain tax positions as part of the statement of activities, when applicable. Management has determined that the Chapter has no uncertain tax positions at July 31, 2019 and, therefore, no amounts have been accrued.
