Explanation:

The Elmer Swim Club Board of Trustees is comprised of a nine-member, volunteer, no compensation board. The trustees dedicate many hours to the swim club, especially in the operating season of April through September. The Club failed to submit the required tax returns by the original due date of May 15, 2019. An extension was applied for by the Club's accounting firm, Newkirk & Company. The Club then failed to submit the required documentation by the extended due date of October 15, 2019 due to a clerical error. During a rough economic season of 2019, the Trustees were focused on safety and security measures at the pool and failed to meet the mandatory tax return filing deadline. It was with great hope that any penalties that would be imposed on the Club are waived for the filing of the 2018 Form 990-EZ. The Club is in the process of completing the 2019 Form 990-EZ and will have it submitted in great advance of the extended deadline due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
