Form 990, Part III, Line 1, Description of Organization Mission:	To represent the common interests of its members and provide a forum to enable them to advance public policies that meet consumer and societal needs for clean, safe, efficient, and affordable personal transportation. To represent 12 car and light truck manufacturers selling vehicles in the Unites States and serves as a leading advocacy group for the auto industry. Respect for principles of sustainable mobility permits technological progress in harmony with the environment and the economy.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 4	On December 18, 2019, the Board of Directors of both the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, Inc. (the "Alliance") and Association of Global Automakers, Inc. ("Global Automakers") approved a plan of combination. Both organizations have long and proud histories of advancing their goals and serving their common industry and the constituencies of the Alliance and Global Automakers will be best served by a single, unified United States trade association serving the automobile/motor vehicle manufacturing industry; and combining the Alliance and Global Automakers into one association will result in joint achievements and efficiencies quantitatively and qualitatively greater than those would be for either the Alliance or Global Automakers continuing as a separate association. Effective January 1, 2020, Auto Alliance and the Association of Global Automakers, Inc. (Global) completed a business combination where certain assets, liabilities, obligations and activities of Global were combined with the Auto Alliance, which was then renamed and reincorporated in the District of Columbia under the tax employer identification number of the Auto Alliance. The name of the new organization is the Alliance for Automotive Innovation. Through this combination, the constituencies of Auto Alliance and Global will be best served by a single unified United States trade association servicing the automobile/motor vehicle manufacturing industry as a whole. The new combined entity aims to speed advancement in transportation through public policy, stakeholder engagement and greater public understanding through development of policy for safety technology, reducing emissions and expanding electrification.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6	The Alliance has regular members, intermediate members, and associate members. Those who are regular members may vote on Alliance matters. Intermediate members and associate members may attend Board meetings and participate in discussions but may not vote.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a	There were six regular member companies on the Board of Directors. Each regular member company can nominate up to three members to the Board of Directors. These regular members have voting rights and participate in the Alliance governance. Additionally, there were two intermediate members and four associate members who do not have voting rights.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b	Each of the six regular member companies can nominate up to three members to the Board of Directors. Members of the Board also participate in the Executive Committee meetings. Each company, regardless of the number of Board members present, has one vote on each issue for a total, if all members are represented, of six votes.

Once the audit firm has prepared the draft, the accounting department reviews it and requests any necessary changes. Then the VP of Operations and Finance reviews before the final review is made by the President and CEO and the General Counsel.
