What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? TO PROMOTE SERVICE AS A WORTHY ENDEAVOR, PROVIDE SERVICE TO OTHERS, PROMOTE INTEGRITY, AND ADVANCE WORLD UNDERSTANDING, GOODWILL, AND PEACE IN OUR CLUB, COMMUNITIES, VOCATIONS, IN YOUTH, AND INTERNATIONALLY.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 We provided our members with a venue to meet weekly. We held weekly programs that addressed social and civic issues in our community. Our moto is Service Above Self and to that end our members participated in our Backpack program where we fill backpacks with food every Friday for several schools in Burlington; we prepared breakfast at Friendship House in any month that had a 5th Friday; we started and run CanStruction where teams build displays out of cans as a competition and then all the cans of food are donated to the local food bank; we distributed dictionaries to every third-grader in our school district; our members supported the local youth through sponsorship of the Interact Club and the YES program; we were a significant contributor of funds and service hours to the rebuilding of Maiben house; and currently our club is spearheading the project to get a town clock in downtown Burlington.
