To provide educational and certification programs to enhance the quality of members in the property management profession. Explanation:

We believe that the organization will qualify for late filing penalty relief for the 990 based on reasonable cause. We ask this relief based on Sec. 6652(c)(4) and Regs. Sec. 301.6651-1(c)(1). Also, per Regs. Sec. 301.6652-1(f), we believe that the organization was not willfully negligent in its late filing. We believe the organization exercised ordinary business care and prudence in its 2019 filing based on the following set of facts. The CPA firm, was engaged by the organization to complete the December 31, 2019 Form 990 as well as the 2019 financial statement audit on April 16, 2020. This is a new client for the CPA firm. They neglected to record us in their tax system. Thus, the CPA firm did not file an extension as we expected them to do. This is the reason the 990 was late. Once it was discovered to be late, we made a good faith effort to file as soon as possible.The 990 and 990T returns were due on July 15, 2020 for the year ended December 31, 2019. The financial statement audit began in June of 2020 and the audit was substantially completed on August 15, 2020. The CPA began work on the 990 in mid-August, as they were wrapping up the audit, and realized the 990 was late at that time. When we realized the 990 was late, we quickly finalized the 990 on August 15, 2020 and sent it to the taxpayer and it was filed on August 19, 2020. We have made sure that the CPA has us recorded in their system and will not repeat the same mistake of late filing in future years. Additionally, we were certainly not willful, conscious or intentionally negligent in filing late. As defined in (Boyle, 469 U.S. 241 (1985)). As the fact above show. Also, we wish to point out we are current on all other tax filings as of the date of this filing.We believe we demonstrated:The circumstances that prevented the organization from complying with the timely filing requirement, including circumstances that led to failure to request an extension if the organization failed to get an extension;Why the failure was not due to willful neglect;How the organization exercised ordinary business care and prudence; andThe steps being taken to prevent the problem in the future.We respectfully request and immediate abatement of the late filing penalty.Let us know if you need further information.We are submitting this information under penalty of perjury.
