	Promote and provide social and recreational activities for veterans.

	VFW 5450 supports an annual local fundraiser called Toys for Kids. This event rasies funds and donated gifts for underprivileged families. The monies and gifts are to assist them during the holiday season. The funds are used to purchase clothing, food, gifts and toys for deserving families.

	We support our Florida veterans home located at Ft. McCoy, FL, each year. We buy flags for Memorial Day and place those on veterans graves at local cemeteries. We also have a relief fund which is used to assist destitute veterans and their families in time of need throughout the year. We also assist veterans with wheelchairs, walkers, and ramps when needed at their residence.

	Program for schools in our area. We support our local Jr. ROTC and present them with an annual award. In addition, we sponsor two writing contests, the Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy for middle and high school students, respectively.
