TO AID IN THAT TEACHING, WE HOSTED A LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE IN NOVEMBER FOR TOP LEADERS FROM BRAZIL, NICARAGUA AND THE DOMINICAN HERE IN THE U.S. ZMI VARIOUS PROJECTS FOR 2019 FOCUSED ON TEACHING SEMESTER CLASSES AND SEMINARS FOR MOTHERS, FATHERS, BIBLE STUDY CLASSES FOR FAMILY SURVIVAL, PARENTING AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS. ZMI LEADERS AND VOLUNTEERS CONDUCTED HUNDREDS OF CONFERENCES FOR MEN AND WOMEN ON BUILDING FAMILIES THAT LAST A LIFETIME. OUR CENTRAL AND BRAZILIAN DIRECTORS TRAVELED TO COSTA RICA AND AMERICA FOR LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND TO GIVE ASSISTANCE TO LOCAL LEADERS IN THEIR OWN COUNTRIES. OUR COUNTRY LEADERS ALSO CARRIED OUT VARIOUS HUMANITARIAN AID PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, NOT JUST WHEN AMERICAN TEAMS TRAVELED TO THE FIELD. ASSISTANCE INCLUDED SUCH ITEMS AS PMS KITS, (ASSISTANCE FOR MONTHLY MENSTRUAL NEEDS) AND OFFERING FAMILY CLASSES AND SKILLS TRAINING FOR SEWING, BAKING, AND JEWELRY MAKING FOR GIRLS AND WOMEN AND WOOD WORKING CLASSES FOR BOYS AND MEN. ALSO OFFERED ARE CHILDREN'S AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM TEACHING HEALTH, HYGIENE TRAINING & PROVIDING BASIC NEEDS ASSISTANCE, AND FREE MEALS EACH DAY IN THE PROGRAM. WE ALSO ASSISTED IMPOVERISHED FAMILIES WITH FOOD, SHOES, AND CLOTHING. WE PROVIDED FABRIC, SEWING AND JEWELRY COMPONENTS AND TEACHING TO ASSIST SINGLE MOTHERS IN EARNING INCOME FOR THEIR FAMILIES. WE WORKED WITH YOUTH AND CHILDREN WITH PHYSICAL EDUCATION ACTIVITIES IN BASEBALL AND SOCCER. WE PROVIDED SPORTS EQUIPMENT AND COACHING FOR P.E. PROGRAMS AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE, AND TUTORING FOR CHILDREN LEFT BEHIND IN THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM. TEACHING AND TRAINING CONTINUE YEAR AROUND FOR THESE PROJECTS. MANY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WERE HELPED THROUGH THESE EFFORTS, FULFILLING OUR STATED PURPOSE. ZMIS VOLUNTEERS HERE IN THE U.S. AND IN EACH FOREIGN COUNTRY WHERE WE SERVE, CONTINUE TO WORK THROUGHOUT THE YEAR KEEPING THE PROJECTS ACTIVE AND GROWING SO THAT MINISTRY CONTINUES FOR THE LONG HAUL. |
