THIS GATHERING WAS DESIGNED TO BE A CONFLUENCE OF THREE PRIMARY TRIBUTARIES: MEDICINE, PSYCHOLOGY, AND NATURAL HISTORY. MORE THAN 100 PARTICIPANTS CAME FROM 25 STATES AND 3 COUNTRIES; THEIR RESPONSE AND FORMAL FEEDBACK WERE OVERWHELMINGLY POSITIVE. WE FILMED SEVERAL SESSIONS AT THE GATHERING, AND A NEW PART OF OUR WEBSITE FEATURES THIS RECIPROCAL HEALING CONFLUENCE. THE IMPACT OF THE GATHERING WILL BE AMPLIFIED FURTHER BY PUBLICATION OF A SPECIAL ISSUE OF THE ACADEMIC JOURNAL, ECOPSYCHOLOGY, DERIVING FROM THE CONFLUENCE (AND CO-GUEST EDITED BY NHI EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TOM FLEISCHNER). ALLED ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS EVENT INCLUDED THE CENTER FOR HUMANS AND NATURE, ECOPSYCOLOGY JOURNAL, NATURAL INSTITUTE FOR ECOLOGY AND MEDICINE, NORTH CASCADES INSTITUTE, AND STANDFORD UNIVERSITY'S EARTH SYSTEMS PROGRAMS. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: GALLERY: OUR ART GALLERY CONTINUED TO DEVELOP AND BECOME INCREASINGLY WELL-KNOWN IN THE REGION. WE PUT OUT A CALL FOR EXHIBIT PROPOSALS, AND OUR GALLERY COUNCIL ASSISTED IN A RIGOROUS REVIEW PROCESS, RESULTING IN THE SELECTION OF SEVEN SHOWS, SETTING OUR EXHIBITION SCHEDULE THROUGH JULY 2022. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: RESEARCH: WE MADE MAJOR ADVANCES IN OUR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH PROGRAM, FACILITATED BY THE HIRING OF OUR FIRST SCIENCE DIRECTOR, DR. LISA FLOYD-HANNA.
