| Form 990, Part VI, Line 6: Explanation of Classes of Members or Shareholder | The Organization has the following categories of membership:(A) Contractor members shall be defined to be any person, firm or corporation engaged in any work related to the construction industry as a contractor who provides labor to the construction site. Members of this chapter shall be contractors defined in the bylaws of ABCC, of good reputation, who have their office in the area served by this chapter, and who shall have applied for and been accepted in due form to membership in this chapter, subject to the provisions of the bylaws herein set forth.(B) Multiple members of this chapter sahll be members who qualify as follows: Multiple members shall be defined to be a member of another chapter or a national member at-large who becomes a member under the same name in this chapter.(C) Sustaining members shall be defined to be a member, life member, firm, industry association, foundation, or any other group or individual who agrees to make a voluntary contribution to help defray the costs of furthering the objectives, purposes and programs of the chapter.(D) Supplier, industry professional members of this chapter shall be those who qualify under one of the paragraphs (1) or (2) below. (1) Supplier members shall be defined to be any person, firm or corporation engaged in any work related to the construction industry and who furnishes material, but not construction labor, except for the temporary construction labor, to the construction site. (2) Industry professional members shall be defined to be any person, firm or corporation engaged in any work related to the construction industry who does not furnish labor and/or material to construction sites.(E) Honorary life membership in the chapter may be extended to an individual retired from an active roll in the industry who wishes to continue to participate in furthering the objective, purposes and programs of the chapter. An honorary life member must have contributed an outstanding service to the chapter and be recommended to the local board of directors for approval as a life member of the chapter.(F) There shall be established an honor roll of ABCC members consisting of any ABCC member or employee who has passed away and whom the ABCC board of directors certifies as having been instrumental in shaping the contracting industry for North & South Carolina. |
