Part X : FIN48 Footnote

NASBA is exempt from income tax under Section 501(c)(6) of the U. S.Internal Revenue Code (IRC). NASBA is also exempt from New Mexico stateincome tax under 1978 New Mexico Statutes Chapter 7, Section 2-4(B). NASBA has adopted accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America as they relate to uncertain tax positions for the year ended December 31, 2018 and has evaluated its tax positions taken for all open tax years. Currently, the 2016, 2017 and 2018 tax years are open and subject to examination by the Internal Revenue Service and New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department. However, NASBA is not currently under audit nor has NASBA been contacted by any of these jurisdictions. Management believes that the activities of NASBA are within its tax-exempt purpose, and that there are no uncertain tax positions.
