Post 416 sponsors boys and girls to attend Department of Texas American Legion Boys and Girls State each year. The Post is a lead sponsor of the Read By Five Initiative and Safe Haven Computer Centers to support young children being ready to succeed in school. The Post also sponsors and volunteers at the annual Computer Olympics for grade school children. In addition, Post 416 sponsors an annual Oratorical Contest for high school students.
