Part III - Line 28. Program Service: HealingAccomplishments:The Healing program servicing our community through massage, healing touch, medical massage, CST and oriental therapies. These healing therapies are offered year-round, and at a very discounted rate so everyone can have access to healing. There are two Independent Contractors who specializes in the healing therapies. They are both Licensed Massage Therapists (LMT), one working full time and the other part time named Ana Alexander and Eydher Verdecia, respectively. Ana Alexander volunteers to clean the sheets, year-round. We have had 828 visits throughout the year, with a total of 229 participants, attending all year. Part III - Line 29. Program Service: Movement ClassesAccomplishments:Open to people of all ages, dividing them into kids and adults classes. Movement classes include and are not limited to Yoga, Martial Arts, Qi Gong, Pilates on the mat, and fitness training. All movement classes are carefully designed to benefit each participant, to improve their health and wellbeing. There are two instructors working as independent contractors who specialize in the movement classes. Ana Alexander and Chet Alexander. They are both qualified to teach each specialty. Movement Classes run year-round, 12 months of the year, and most days of the week, except for Sunday, offering participants multiple opportunities to train. Some classes are community based and are offered for free. We have had 1581 visits throughout 2019 for a total of 586 sessions in the year. A total of 68 participants have benefited from the movement classes offered at Nityananda Center. Private visits have totaled 254 visits, with 6 participants benefiting from private instruction all year. Part III - Line 30. Program Service: WorkshopsAccomplishments:January 2019: Forgiveness and Purification Outdoor Ceremony. This outdoor sauna (Sweat Lodge) was based on the Tree of Unification Process Participants were taught this process and how to use it for forgiveness and healing. Facilitated by Chet and Ana Alexander. This was a one-day event. There were 12 participants at this event. January: 2/Weekend Insight Class Wilderness Survival Class Outdoors. Participants learned how to make a fire using flint and steel that was forged in a previous workshop. The fire making class was used as a symbolic process to empower creativity and self-healing in ceremony. Taught by Chet Alexander. This workshop was held over two weekends with a total of 6 participants. December 2019 Annual New Years Eve, Reclaiming the Magic of the Healing Heart. This outdoor sauna (Sweat Lodge) was based on the Tree of Unification Process Participants were taught this process and how to use it to surrender negative feelings and strengthen a compassionate heart. Facilitated by Chet and Ana Alexander. There were 15 participants at this event. Part III - Line 31. Program Service: Kids CampAccomplishments:Education workshops for homeschool kids in June for a small group of children at the Nityananda Center. These classes include martial arts, reading, writing, basic math and art and crafts. Taught by Chet Alexander 3 days per week.Private Homeschool for an 8-year-old autistic kid, who could not attend school. She received a scholarship so she can learn how to read and write with private instructor Chet Alexander. She exceled during the year, attending daily, Monday through Friday for two hours for 9 months. She became proficient in reading, writing, science, math and very accomplished in movement and art therapies. She started with a first-grade level, even lower. In only 9 months she developed to the level of the children her own age.Free Childrens Song Circle at the Nityananda Center Several Homeschool Teachers and a professional singer /songwriter got together to present a Monday morning each week of song and martial arts for a large group of Homeschool kids. Taught by Chet Alexander and Judy Subirats. |
