Briefly describe the organization’s mission: Our goals are to promote the welfare and enhance our community by providing funds for Veterans, Special Needs Children, Scholarships and Youth Programs at local schools, police and firefighters, just to name a few; to quicken the spirit of American patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship and to perpetuate itself as a fraternal organization. The Edison Elks #2487 is just one Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America who serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, demonstrating the ELKS CARE and ELKS SHARE philosophy.

	Special Needs Children & Adults- Helping children and adults who were born with or have acquired disabilities. Help can be in the form of special shoes, wheelchairs, or other medically necessary treatment or equipment. The Lodge also subsidizes events and social functions for the local special needs residents. We are also called upon for support of the local Special Olympics.

	Community Activities- The Lodge provides sponsorships, donations to local youth sports teams, other local non-for-profit clubs, Boy Scouts, and Local 501(c)(3) organziations.
