The Modified Cash Basis of Accounting is used to prepare the Council Bluffs Convention and Visitors Bureau financial statements. The Cash method of accounting has been modified to recognize 1 Investments at fair market value, 2 Capitalization and depreciation / amortization of long lived assets, 3 Payroll withholdings and accruals of payroll taxes, 4 Invoices due to vendors for goods and services already received, and 5 Any notes / loans where amounts are due.
