STUDENTS EXPLORED AQUATIC ECOLOGY, SUSTAINABILITY, THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE, GEOLOGY, HISTORY, AND MORE THROUGH HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES THAT UTILIZED THE PARK AS A LIVING CLASSROOM. THE CONSERVANCY'S ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER, LOCATED INSIDE 99 PLYMOUTH, PROVIDES A YEAR-ROUND HOME TO THE CONSERVANCY'S THRIVING EDUCATION PROGRAM AND IS OPEN TO FAMILIES AND PARK VISITORS ON WEEKENDS AND OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL HOURS. NEARLY 10,000 VISITORS ATTENDED THESE PUBLIC OPEN HOURS. THE CONSERVANCY'S ED CENTER PROVIDES MULTIPLE INTERACTIVE ELEMENTS INCLUDING AN EAST RIVER AQUARIUM, A DISCOVERY STATION WITH A 10' SCALE MODEL OF THE PARK AND OTHER EXHIBITS THAT OFFER AN IN-DEPTH LOOK AT THE PARK'S ECOLOGY, HISTORY AND SUSTAINABLE DESIGN.
