Other Florida CASE supported The Florida Department of Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services two (2) and a half day Administrative Management Meeting that we co-sponsor and conduct a membership drive in the recruitment of new members. Florida CASE provided support to the FDOE Bureau of Exceptional Education Student Services support to new ESE Directors. In addition, we continue to support the Landis Stetler Educational Scholarship, Committee for Education of Exceptional Students, Florida Department of Education State Advisory Meetings.
Other Florida Committee For The Education Of Exceptional Students (FCCES) held its annual robust legislative meeting on January 27th in Tallahassee with twenty- five (25) attendees. Our special guests included Joy Frank, General Counsel for Florida Association of District School Superintendents (FADSS), who provided us with the most current educational bills that are on the horizon and in the forefront of this legislative session. Our "Legislative Platform" included the following areas of focus: Safe Learning Environment, Access and Assessment, Funding, Accountability, Personnel and Mental Health Services. Members of Florida CASE traveled to Arlington, VA and attended the July 2019 National Special Education Legislative Summit. The Special Education Legislative Summit gave Florida the opportunity to represent our state at the national level regarding disability issues.
Other We published quarterly newsletters to provide essential information to our members. Including but not limited to propose educational Bills at both the State and National level, educational conferences and activities that aligns with our Mission and Vision. In addition, to share resources that can further support our students with disabilities, to foster a connection between the Board and CASE members and created a new CASE website that is easy to navigate. https://www.floridacase.org/
