Other	PART III, LINE 28 - POLICY DEVELOPMENT - Monroe County Farm Bureau gathers input from the volunteers in creating policy for the organization. We send out an opinionnaire to members thru the mail and email. Then we hold a meeting to discuss the finding of that opinionnaire and create resolution that reflect the opinionnaire. These are then presented at the annual membership meeting in the fall.
Other	PART III, LINE 29 - AG PROMOTION - Monroe County has been very active in promotion of Agriculture. We have been a long-time sponsor of the youth livestock exhibitors at the county fair. We sponsor exhibitor shirts for judging at the fair. Monroe County Farm Bureau sponsors watermelon at the fair that brings in many individuals for the promotion of agriculture. We support the youth at the fair by purchasing livestock at the fair auction. We are a sponsor of the governor charity steer show. We support many of the local town celebrations and have an active roll each time possible. We have a float in the annual town parade. We sponsor the ag breakfast each year part of the ag week celebration. We promote with radio and print ads during ag week. We have a community event at our annual meetings with the induction of the Ag Hall of Fame members.
Other	PART III, LINE 30 - AG IN THE CLASSROOM - Monroe County has an ag in the classroom coordinator that visits the 3rd grade classrooms once a month during the school year. This is culminated at the end of the year with an ag day at the fairground for all 3rd graders in the county. At this event they have presenter on many topics. Livestock displays, ethanol trailers, soil health, shearing demonstration and machinery. A lunch is provided that focuses on farm products that are prepared by local farmers.
