Briefly describe the organization’s mission: AZ PODER fights to defund the police, abolish ICE, and hold politicians accountable. Founded in 2018 as a 501c4, we fight to build a liberated future for people of color in Arizona. We engage Arizona communities of color in electoral strategies that build power. We develop new leaders, shift the public narrative about health and safety, and mobilize supporters across the state to take action.

	Voter Education and Registration PODER recruits volunteers and pays canvassers to pass out campaign literature, survey voters about their views on issues relevant to the election cycle and register new voters. PODER hosts public events where community members can discuss issues and meet candidates running for office in their districts. In 2019 we educated voters on the impact of police violence on community safety. We also held on line and in person training events to increase public understanding of the Phoenix city budget and how resources might be reallocated to community identified priorities.
