The post provides support to local returning veterans with finding job assistance and networking with other veterans in the area. The post provides monthly dinners for veterans and post members to assist in networking with other veterans and community organizations. The post a coordination focus for veterans and local health and wellness counselling as needed. The post provides support to VA hospitals in our local area. specifically by providing activities for paraplegic veterans. The post provides visits to local nursing homes and rehabilitation centers in the community. The post provides assistance to veterans and family members with funeral services of locally deceased veterans.

The post conducts local contests for high school and middle school students (Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen) to speak and write on a patriotic related subject as part of the national VFW program for youth education. The contestants also attend a dinner hosted by post members as recognition and receive awards. The post assists the Town of Needham with annual events organizing and participating in local Veterans Day, Memorial Day and Independence Day activities. The post provides support to the town's police and fire department honor guards. The post provides recognition to outstanding teachers in the local schools, law enforcement and first responders.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b	Form 990 is provided to any post member upon request. Form 990 is also available to any outside request received by the post. Form 990 is presented to post Trustees and Officers. Form 990 is presented to post members at a general membership meeting for their review and comment.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c	The post maintains a conflict of interest policy that is updated annually and if a conflict arises post offices may have to exclude themselves during a procedural or financial voting.
Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19	Organizational financial statements are provided to Post Officers and governing body. Financial statements are also available to all post members at each monthly general membership meeting. All income and expenditures are reviewed by the post officers monthly. Governing Documents are reviewed by the post officers as needed or when changes are needed and made. Any changes to governing documents are made available to post members for approval at general members meetings. Monthly statements are audited by an independent trustees quarterly and provided to the state governing organization for review and kept on file.

Explanation:

The filling is late and the following is submitted. The business was closed from March 17, 2020 until September 1, 2020 due to local health requirements. It should be also noted that many of our members being veterans have preexisting conditions which make the very vulnerable to the Covid 19 disease. We did submit a request for extension in August, that was submitted late, however we request the extension to November 15, 2020 be approved because of difficulties complicating the ability to access files, records etc to complete the return. Again, we request our original request for extension to November 15, 2020 be approved.
