Briefly describe the organization’s mission: Provide programs and support to veterans and their families, the youth and our community. Promote the principles of the American Legion. We administer State grant funds and provide Post funds to support needy veterans. We support Legion programs for children, the community and emphasize Americanism activities. We provide military honors for veterans, as well as, provide and support programs that aid veterans in the community

	Assisted 68 needy veterans with mortgage/rent payments, utilities, food and other assistance. This included financial assistance to needy veterans and their families through a grant from the State of Colorado which is supplemented by Post funds. The Post Service Officer manages this Program and works hand in hand with the County Services Officers. The veteran's needs and service record is vetted by the CSO. Upon validation of need by the CSO the PSO prepares a check using grant or Post funds and delivers it to the third party recipient owed the funds by the veteran. Food or transportation debit cards are provided directly to the veteran.

	Assist the youth and community through sponsored American Legion Programs including Boys State, Oratorical Contest, Legion Baseball, scholarships (10 total), Participated in community events on Memorial Day (2), Veterans Day, Littleton Western Welcome Week Parade, Fourth of July parade. The Post Color Guard presented the flag at the opening of high school football and basketball games. Support local organization including the Boy Scouts, Special Olympics, Toys for Tots and Muscular Dystrophy Association. Through the National organization, the Post supports the National Welfare Association, the Child Welfare Association, the National Emergency Fund and child Welfare Fund.

	The All Veterans Honor Guard (AVHG) and other programs supporting veterans in the community.Members of the Post AVHG performed more than 200 funeral services for veterans and their families at Fort Logan National Cemetery. At a minimum a service consist of an AVHG Commander, service Commander, Chaplain, bugler, Firing Team Commander and a seven man Firing Squad. Other assistance to vets includes financial support to victims of natural disasters, redistribution center to assist veterans and active duty personal with food and used furnishings,Rocky Mountain Honor Flight, Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Institute (help vets with PTSD), Provide Christmas gifts to 30 Psych Ward patients at the VA Hospital. Maintain a storage locker of medical equipment to provide as needed to Post members and veterans in the community.

(1) Assistance to veterans and their families	68	2,000	0	check or gift card	The Post Service in conjunction with the County Service Officers provide assistance to needy veterans for rent/mortgage,utilities, transportation, food medical or temporary shelter. The CSO vets the veterans service record and need and the PSO provides a check to the third party recipient (landlord, mortgage company, utility company, doctor etc. In cases of food and temporary shelter gift cards are provided. The maximum funding is $2,000 per veteran. The funding comes from an annual State Grant as well as supplemental funding from the Post. Records are maintained by the Post, County and State.

Schedule I, Part I, Line 2

The Post Service Officer Works in conjunction with the County Service Officers to provide assistance to needy veterans and their families for rent/mortgage, utilities, and other emergencies such as transportation, food, medical and temporary shelter. Both the Post and County maintain records of assistance provided. The CSO vets each request for military service and validation of need. Then the PSO makes the payment to the third party recipient (landlord, mortgage company, utility,etc). Any one individual is limited to $2,000 during a calendar year. The vast majority of funds are provided through a State Grand which is supplemented by Post funds, as needed. The Post prepares request for funds from the State along with quarterly reports on the use of the funds. All unused funds are returned to the State at the end of June. Post funds are held in an account titled Veterans and Family Assistance Fund. Monthly the status of the Grant and Post Fund are discussed at the Post Executive Committee Meeting every month. A new Grant proposal is prepared every year and the State awards a new Grant every year based on the proposal. A local citizen makes an annual donation to the Post to help maintain this program.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 1a	The Post has approximately 400 members and that number varies throughout the year. The Post has an Executive Committee that screens motions for new business and the Post's annual operating budget. The Post membership must must approve motions referred to them by the Post Executive Committee. The Membership Meetings must have a quorum present to vote on motions.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6	The Post has approximately 400 members all with an equal vote on decisions. There must be a quorum present to discuss and vote on all motions.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a	All Officers of the Post are voted into Office by the Membership every year.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7b	The members approve the Post budget. Diversion from the Budget must be approved by the Executive Committee and then by the membership.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8b	The Committee has authority to work within the scope of the approved budget. The Post has no committees who are authorized on behalf of the Executive Committee. The Committee would propose a motion to the Executive Committee for approval and subsequent approval by the membership.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b	All Officers are provided an electronic copy to review and comment on. Any issues are discussed at the Executive Committee. Once all comments are resolved the Post Commander signs the form.
Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19	All documents are available on request. The Post Constitution, By-Laws and Polices and Guidelines are available on the Post website. The Form 990 is often posted on public websites. Copies will be made available if requested. We have never received a request for this document. Financial statement are discussed at our monthly meeting and are available upon request. The Post does not currently have a conflict of interest statement. However, whenever an apparent conflict of interest is found during the Executive Committee discussion of new business, that individual(s) is excluded from voting on that motion.
