OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Olympic and Paralympic GamesThis project has been postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Japan IMB Vision #1,2,&3The International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention sent three groups to Japan in an effort to cast a vision for the ministry to take place at the Summer Olympics. The members of each of these three teams were given a tour of the hotels, food options and ministry locations for Christian Ministry outreach during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: ETBU French OpenEast Texas Baptist University sent 16 students to Nice France during the French Open Tennis tournament. The students engaged in a Christian Youth camp and held a few basic tennis skills clinics. The team shared of their Christian faith with students that attended camp and their tennis training. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 9: Ovar Portugal BasketballA team of four American basketball coaches traveled to Ovar, Portugal to assist in a citywide basketball camp. The coaches were able to speak of their Christian faith and distribute Christian literature to anyone who expressed interest. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 10: SE Asia/Malaysia BasketballA team of 6 American basketball players and coaches traveled to Malaysia where they played 15 exhibition games with local players and shared of their Christian faith with anyone who expressed interest in learning more. The team also distributed Christian literature to anyone who expressed interest. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 11: Slovenia BasketballA team of 10 American basketball coaches traveled to Bovitz, Slovenia where they conducted a citywide basketball camp for school students. The coaches led the drills and training at basketball camp and shared of their Christian faith when possible. The coaches also distributed Christian literature and Bibles to anyone who expressed interest. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 12: MVCC GreeceMountain View Christian Church of Virginia sent 16 youth and leaders to Athens, Greece. The team members worked alongside our ministry partners at Streetlight ministries. The team assisted with light construction, community work and shared of their Christian faith when anyone expressed interest. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 13: Portugal FootballA team of 6 American football coaches traveled to Lisbon, Portugal and conducted an American football camp for local youth. The coaches led the students in training and drills and shared of their Christian faith with anyone who expressed interest. The coaches also distributed Christian literature with anyone who expressed interest. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 14: ETBU Japan Cheer/DanceEast Texas Baptist University sent 22 of their students and leadership to Tokyo, Japan. The team did cheerleading and dance exhibitions in local schools and gatherings in Tokyo. The team members shared of their Christian faith and distributed Christian materials with anyone who expressed interest. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 15: Evangel U WC Soccer Evangel University sent their women's soccer team and coaches to France during the Women's World Cup of Soccer. The team members assisted with a Christian youth camp as well as assisted with some light construction at the church hosting the camp. The players and coaches were able to share of their Christian faith during the camp and soccer training with anyone who expressed interest. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 16: Japan Rugby World CupISF sent 12 volunteers to assist Japanese Christian churches with outreach during the 2019 World Cup of Rugby. The volunteers served as ambassadors for American culture at local festivals and shared of their Christian faith with anyone who expressed interest. The team also distributed Bibles to anyone who expressed interest in receiving one. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 17: Tyler LubbertTyler is a volunteer living and working with our partners at Streetlight Ministries in Athens Greece. Tyler handles all the logistics for our teams going to Greece and the support we raise covers his ministry expenses for his office and work in Athens. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 18: Other smaller projects in which the goal is to build relationships through sports and minister to souls. |
