The SMGA tin# 57-0641818 filed and mailed a 990 long form tax return on February 24, 2020 for the tax year January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. I thought the SMGA could file a paper tax return for 2019 because the IRS did not require an electronic tax return if the tax year began before July 1, 2019. The SMGA tax year begins on January 1, 2019. The SMGA received correspondence from the IRS in September 2020 that led me to believe the IRS does not have the paper return I mailed to the IRS in February 2020. The SMGA will file an electronic 2019 return and I will also mail the paper return to the IRS again.
