What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The purpose of the VFW shall be fraternal, patriotic, charitable and educational; to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades,; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead, and to assist their widows and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the government of the United States and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom and to preserve and defend the Unites States of America. The Post hosts an annual stand down event whereby job counseling and legal services are provided. Clothing and toiletries are also distributed to veterans in need. The VFW also hosts two annual BBQ events, one on the fourth of July and the other on Veterans Day. Typically serve 50 to 75. Thanksgiving dinners are provided to any veteran and their family on the holiday. On this day the post served 60 people. The VFW continues to support social activities through its Canteen program.
