Explanation

Part X : FIN48 Footnote

The Organization is exempt from income tax under Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code. However, income from certain activities, primarily advertising income and rental income, is not directly related to the Organizations tax-exempt purpose and is subject to taxation as unrelated business income. As of December 31, 2019, the Organization had a tax deposit of $9,885 for estimated payments in excess of actual unrelated business income tax. Estimated tax payments and prior year overpayments applied to 2019 tax totaled $10,844. The total unrelated business income tax expense for the year ended was $959. As of December 31, 2019, the Organization also had a tax payable of $5,677 for unrelated business income tax that was due to an erroneous refund received by the Organization in 2019. Management has reviewed all tax positions recognized in previously filed tax returns in the U.S. federal and state jurisdictions and those expected to be taken in future tax returns. As of December 31, 2019, the Organization had no amounts related to unrecognized income tax benefits and no amounts related to accrued interest and penalties. The Organization does not anticipate any significant changes to unrecognized income tax benefits over the next year.
