| Other | PART III, LINE 28 - AG EDUCATION - The Chickasaw County Farm Bureau strongly supports Agricultural Education and has worked diligently to provide educational resources to our local school districts. Our mission is to improve agriculture literacy and to make students and teachers aware of the importance of agriculture to our local economy and way of life. We have been able to conduct Agriculture in The Classroom (AITC) activities in all 5 area schools this past year. The Chickasaw County Farm Bureau supports the wages of an Outreach Coordinator, who promotes agriculture through public relations and in our local schools with Agriculture in the Classroom programming. |
| Other | PART III, LINE 29 - PUBLIC RELATIONS - The Chickasaw County Farm Bureau organization is very strong supporter of youth programming involving agriculture. We have purchased and donated the sawdust bedding for the local 4-H/FFA Achievement Fair in Chickasaw County. During the Achievement Fair we also hosted the Ag Olympics where there are different obstacles made from agricultural products and participants are timed to see who can complete the task in the fastest time. |
| Other | PART III, LINE 30 - POLICY DEVELOPMENT - The Chickasaw County Farm Bureau met with state and national legislators to discuss issues of importance and issues affecting agriculture. They also met with the County Supervisors and County Engineer to discuss issues affecting members and the community. The county Farm Bureau developed an opinionnaire survey our members to acquire input on local as well as national issues of importance. Once the results were collected meeting open to all Chickasaw Farm Bureau Members was held. The issues were then discussed and once approved policy was adopted. |
