BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF LA PLATA COUNTY'S EVALUATION RESULTS DEMONSTRATE SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON PARTICIPATING YOUTH IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF THEIR LIVES AS A RESULT OF THEIR PARTICIPATION IN CLUB PROGRAMS. SOME HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE CLUB'S PAST YEAR'S EVALUATIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: -- 366 CLUB MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN S.P.A.R.K, HEALTHY HABITS, TRIPLE PLAY, AND SMART MOVES, AND THROUGH 4,392 HOURS OF HEALTH AND FITNESS PROGRAMS LEARNED HOW TO LEAD MORE HEALTHY LIFESTYLES AND MAKE GOOD CHOICES. -- 263 CLUB YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN PROGRAMS TO PROMOTE GOOD CHARACTER AND CITIZENSHIP, SUCH AS YOUTH OF THE MONTH/YEAR, POSITIVE ACTION PROGRAMS, AND TORCH CLUB, WHICH PROVIDED THEM WITH 2,104 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE AND LEADERSHIP BUILDING ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS. -- IN ADDITION, 271 YOUTH BENEFITED FROM THEIR PARTICIPATION IN ACADEMIC SUCCESS FOCUSED PROGRAMS, SUCH AS PROJECT LEARN, POWER HOUR, STEM, SUMMER BRAIN GAIN, AND MYFUTURE.NET, DIPLOMAS 2 DEGREES, AND CLUB TECH, RESULTING IN 3,252 HOURS OF EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT FOR THEM. -- FURTHERMORE, RECENT EVALUATION RESULTS ALSO DEMONSTRATED THAT ANNUAL OUTCOMES RELATED TO ACADEMICS, LEADERSHIP, SERVICE, AND GENERAL HEALTH/WELL-BEING WERE MET OR EXCEEDED THIS PAST YEAR. FOR EXAMPLE, 97% OF CLUB MEMBERS EXPECT TO GRADUATE, 90% BELIEVE THEY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR COMMUNITY, AND 50% OF CLUB MEMBERS ARE PHYSICALLY ACTIVE AT LEAST FIVE OR MORE DAYS PER WEEK. |
