The organization's purpose is to hold the assets of the Staplcotn Medical Plan, a self-insured plan, which provides healthcare benefits to eligible employees of Staple Cotton Cooperative Association and Staple Cotton Discount Corporation and their eligible dependents. At December 31, 2020 there were 333 persons insured under the plan. Claims paid on behalf of participants totaled $1,935,719. Reinsurance premiums of $226,624; claims administration expense of $84,978, and accounting fees of $7,000 were paid in 2020. Insurance premiums of $1,533,448 were collected from Staple Cotton Cooperative Association, Staple Cotton Discount Corporation and participants in the plan. Proceeds received from a reinsurance policy totaled $226,624. The Trust's interest bearing checking account and certificates of deposit earned interest income of $29,491.
