What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? TO CREATE COMMUNITY-BUILDING EVENTS AND RESOURCES IN THE LANSING AREA, INCLUDING ATTRACTING TALENT TO THE LANSING COMMUNITY THROUGH PLACEMAKING, UNIQUE PROGRAMS, AND EXPERIENTIAL EVENTS.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 THE LANSING 5:01 PROGRAM ATTRACTS AND RETAINS EMERGING PROFESSIONALS TO THE LANSING COMMUNITY THROUGH UNIQUE PROGRAMS, EXPERIENTIAL EVENTS, AND PLACE BASED MARKETING INITIATIVES. IN LIEU OF THE PANDEMIC, THE ORGANIZATION PIVOTED TO PROVIDE VALUED ADDED SERVICES WHERE POSSIBLE IN 2020. LANSING 5:01 WELCOMED APPROXIMATELY 750 ATTENDEES AT OUR FLAGSHIP ART AND CULTURAL EVENT THE 2020 GARDEN JAM, HELD IN SEPTEMBER AT LANSING'S COOLEY GARDENS IN A SAFE INPERSON ENVIRONMENT. THE FOUR DAY FORMAT ALLOWED EVENT ORGANIZERS TO HOST SMALLER GROUPS OF ATTENDEES OVER MULTIPLE DAYS, FOLLOWING ALL SAFETY GUIDELINES AND REGULATIONS, WHILE FEATURING 8 MICHIGAN BASED PERFORMING ARTISTS AND MUSICIANS. LANSING 5:01 ALSO HOSTED A VIRTUAL LIVEATHON ON MAY 1ST, 2020, FEATURING PERFORMANCES FROM 11 LOCAL ARTISTS AND RAISING $5,400 VIA A GOFUNDME CAMPAIGN FOR 10 LOCAL NONPROFIT CULTURAL DESTINATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY. LANSING 5:01 ALSO PARTNERED WITH A LOCAL ILLUSTRATOR TO CREATE THE LOVE LANSING COLORING BOOK, FEATURING IMAGES OF MANY OF THE REGION'S REPUTABLE DESTINATIONS, RESTAURANTS, AND LANDMARKS, AND MADE IT AVAILABLE AS A FREE DIGITAL DOWNLOAD TO PROVIDE A FAMILYFRIEND ACTIVITY WHILE MANY WERE QUARANTINING.
